Scope: General contractor for the construction of approximately 9,000 LF of mountain road including timber clearing, rock excavation, cuts and fills. This road was originally designed to have approximately 8,500 SF of MSE block retaining wall, as the existing topographical map was in error, changes required a total of 22,944 SF of wall. The job approximately doubled in size but was completed in the same 90-day period originally anticipated. The roadway traversed existing slopes that in places exceeded 2.5:1. The only way to retain a roadway fill acceptable to Jefferson County was to incorporate MSE walls.
