Lutz Reservoir

Scope: The construction of this reservoir was the reconstruction of an existing reservoir in Brighton, Colorado. It included installing over 100,000 square feet of perimeter slurry wall, excavating from the bottom of the existing reservoir to lower the bottom elevation an additional 12 feet, over 250,000 cubic yards or excavation and embankment, placing 15,000 tons of riprap, a grouted boulder spillway, a boulder lined channel, and a 26 foot tall outlet structure with triple 30 inch outlet gates. Included in the contract was the placement of trees and vegetation after the reservoir was completed.
