Scope: Complete turnkey general contractor for new county and private roads with fast track scheduling. The scope included the construction of approximately 2.5 miles of new roadway including approximately 48,000 CYS of unclassified excavation complete-in-place; remove and replace 14,000 CYS topsoil; 13,000 TNS of base course; 16,000 SY of asphalt pavement; 600 LF of CMP ranging in size from 18” to 84”; 500 TNS of riprap; and, erosion control. The scope also included the construction of a county road detour and then the reconstruction of the county road and subdivision intersection. This project was completed within the required four month schedule despite a topographical mapping error of two feet and problems with the soils, which required a design-build / value engineered fly ash / chemical stabilized solution.
